Water Hyacinth

Leaf and mesh lace give this triangle shawl a dual personality - sometimes dressy, sometimes casual, always playful.

And a nice bonus, the stitch pattern looks equally good from both sides.

The shawl is worked in one piece from a narrow tip to a wide end, ending with a pretty picot bind off.

Stats

Finished measurement: 50 x 64 x 80". The size may be modified, and pattern notes say when and how.

Yarn: 4 skeins Sunday Knits 3 ply (sport weight - 246 yd per 50 g skein) in Angelic (merino angora), Nirvana (merino cashmere), Eden (merino) and/ or Brigadoon (merino tweed).

Needles & Notions: Size US 6 (4 mm), US 7 (4.5 mm) for bind off only; tapestry needle for weaving in ends; stitch markers may be useful.

Gauge: 22 sts and 29 rows = 4" in St st using smaller needles.

Techniques used: Knitted lace (worked on both right and wrong sides), reading charts, knitted cast-on.
