A stylish poncho knit in mainly stockinette stitch with a wide dramatic cabled border, knit-in fringe and a cozy collar that can button up as a cowl

Size: Finished poncho forms a folded 24 x 27" rectangle, which includes the 3" knotted fringe

Yarn: 9 skeins Sunday Knits 5 ply (light worsted) yarns (137 yd / 125 m per 50 g) - Brigadoon (merino tweed), Nirvana (merino cashmere), Eden (merino) or Angelic (merino angora). Shown in Eden dove.

Needles & notions: Size 8 US / 5.0 mm needle, cable needle, markers, tapestry needle, four 7/8" buttons.

Gauge: 17 sts and 25 rows = 4" / 10 cm in stockinette stitch.

A beautiful purl-free stockinette stitch poncho (yes, that's right ... the only purl stitches worked are in the ribbing!) with hombre stripes and stranded stars, flowers and arrows. The fringed edge allows for lots of color changes with practically no loose ends to weave in.
