Piper

I love this new light-weight pullover with swirling cables on front, back and sleeves and pretty moss-stitch details on front bodice and sleeve cuffs.

The fit is comfortable, like a Sunday morning sweatshirt, and a split hem adds to this easy-going attitude.

At the same time, the detailing is so very pretty and feminine, with moss stitch "inserts" on the front bodice and sleeve cuffs.

While the moss inserts use a few specialty stitches, the swirling cables use beginner-level cable techniques with masterful results.

Stats

Sizes of finished sweater: 34 (37, 40, 43, 46, 50, 54)". Wear with recommended ease of 2-5". Shown in size 40 worn with 4" ease.

Yarn: 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10) skeins Sunday Knits sport weight yarns. Sample knit in Heaven (100% cashmere sport weight - 225 yds / 200 m per 50 gm skein), color wildberry.

Substitute any sport weight yarn that creates a light open fabric when worked to gauge: 1290 (1420, 1560, 1690, 1830, 2010, 2210) yds.

Gauge: 21 stitches and 28 rows = 4" in Stockinette stitch, measured from the center of a large washed and dried swatch.
Note: This is a loose gauge for the yarn used, and the resulting fabric is light and airy. A thicker yarn worked at this same gauge would work nicely too and would make a denser fabric.

Needles & Notions: Size 6 US / 4.0 mm straight or circular needles for sweater and 2 double- pointed needles for I-cord; cable needle, stitch markers, tapestry needle, waste yarn.

Techniques used: Cables, reading charts, short rows (explained).

Pattern includes: Written instructions, stitch patterns in charted format only, schematics, glossary.
