Two ribs are better than one in this artful cardigan with long sleeves and deeply scalloped front edges.

Knit from side to side in one piece, the sleeves and collar are picked up and knit,

and short rows shape the the sleeve caps.

The collar may be worn either wide and open or snugged up around the neck.

Sizes: XS (S, S/M, M, M/L, L, XL, XXL); recommended for chest sizes 31-33 (33-35, 35-37, 37-39, 39-43, 43-47, 47-51, 51-55)". Back measurements (underarm to underarm): 15-1/2 (16-1/2, 17-1/2, 18-1/2, 19-1/2, 21-1/2, 23-1/2, 25-1/2)". Shown in size S/M; chest size of model and dress from is 36".

Yarn: Sunday Knits 5 ply (worsted weight yarn, 137 yds / 125 m per 50g skein) in Angelic (merino angora), Eden (merino), Nirvana (merino cashmere), or Brigadoon (merino tweed): 8 (9, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14) skeins.
Substitute any worsted weight yarn that works nicely to gauge.

Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4" in k1-p1 rib. 44-stitch pattern measures 8-3/4" when measured from the inside of a large washed and dried swatch with ribs smoothed flat.

Needles: Size 7 US / 4.5 mm long straight or circular needles for sweater body and circular or double-pointed needles sleeves. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers, tapestry needle, three 1/2" by 2" toggle buttons, crochet hook (around 3.5-4 mm) and one small flat button for optional inside closure, waste yarn.

Techniques: Short rows, provisional cast on, pick up and knit, sewn bind off (optional).
