Eve's Ribs

A shawl-collared shrug, Eve's Ribs uses my Adam's Ribs stitch pattern over the back and arms and it's own lacey variation for the front and collar.

Both stitch patterns are easy and reversible.

Eve's Ribs is knit in one piece from the top down, with seams under arms and down sides

Pattern comes in 4 sizes and includes 4 sleeve options - long tapered sleeves (shown in Angelic smoke), long sleeves with a flared cuff, mid-length with a bell (shown in Angelic nut), and cap sleeves

Fits Chest Sizes: 28-32 (33-38, 39-45, 46-52) with cross-back measurements of 17.5 (21.5, 25.5, 29.5)"
Shrugs shown are size 39-45 in gray (long sleeve), and 33-38 in nut (mid sleeve) on a 36" bust. This shrug should be loose fitting, so if between sizes or if a longer back length is desired, going up a size is recommended.
Pattern instructions contain a discussion on modifications.

Yarn: 6 (7, 8, 9) skeins Sunday Knits 5 ply yarn (137 yds / 125 m per 50g skein: Angelic (75% merino 25% angora), Eden (100% merino), Nirvana (92% merino 8% cashmere), or Brigadoon (100% merino tweed) for long and mid-sleeve versions; 5 (6, 7, 8) skeins for cap-sleeve version.
Note: This is an atypically shaped sweater, and good fit requires a loose knit.
If making a yarn substitution, pick one that typically gets 19-20 sts per 4" in stockinette stitch.

Needles & Notions: Size 8 US / 5.0 mm and size 10 US / 6.0 mm knitting needles; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 16 sts and 25 rows = 4" in patt st using smaller needles.
Skills used: Short rows for long-sleeve versions only (instructions for wrapless short rows included).
