Our Ravelry group made this hat as part of a mystery knitalong. Now the cat's out of the bag.

A lace hat with a picot hem (provisionally cast on)

in 4 versions: cap (in red), beanie (below in grey), beret (above in nut) and slouchy beret (bottom in bone)

fun and easy to knit, fun and easy to wear.

Finished Size 22" band circumference. Adjust needle size for a smaller or larger hat. Instructions for cap (with instructions for beret in parentheses)

Yarn Sunday Knits 5 ply (125 m/137 yd per 50 gm): Nirvana (92% merino 8% cashmere), Eden (100% merino), Brigadoon (merino tweed) or Angelic (75% merino, 25% angora): 1 50-gm skein for cap, 2 for all others.

Needles Circular or double-pointed US Size 5 (3.75 mm) for band, 1 set size 5 or smaller for hemming band, size 8 (5.0 mm) for remainer of hat Notions Tapestry needle, stitch marker

Gauge Using larger needles and knitting the round, 18 rows = 4" in St st.
