Just in time for fall knitting, a new sweater pattern

Buntings is a vintage-inspired fitted cardigan with pretty birds and leaves worked in intarsia over fronts and in a detail on the back, with just a little embroidery and a flirty draw-cord with tassels.
Cable decreases shape the neckline and also the sleeve caps and armholes. Darts shape the waistline. The front and neck bands are picked up and knit.

The colorwork is done with 2 strands of 3-ply yarns in different colors worked together for a painterly, blended effect.

Pattern includes 2 sleeve options - narrow three-quarter sleeves or shorter puffy sleeves. Make it with 2 buttons at the top, or 5 down the front.

Finished measurements: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52) bust circumference. -1 to +2" of positive ease recommended. Sweater shown measures 36", worn with zero ease.

Yarn: Main Color (MC) Sunday Knits Nirvana 5 ply (92% merino, 8% cashmere; ) in charcoal: 5 (6, 6, 7, 8, 9) skeins;
1 20-g skein each: Nirv:iris, teal, fir, curry; Angelic 3 ply: 1 20-g skein: lapis; Brigadoon 3 ply (100% merino tweed): caper.

Needles and notions: Size 5 (3.75 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm), crochet hook size 2 (2.75 mm), tapestry needle, markers (m), stitch holders, two or five 7/8-11/16Ó buttons.

Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch with larger needles.

Skills used: Intarsia, embroidery, short rows, cable decreases.
