Old Town

This sweater has been in the dreaming-of phase for about 3 years now, ever since I saw someone sporting a little cardi with a similar shape and construction at the Old Town Art Fair in 2009

Of course, now that it's finished, it bears little resemblance to the sweater that inspired it.
I do think it's the perfect little throw-on-over-anything warm weather cardigan.

It's worked in one piece in a modular fashion, starting at the upper back and worked down in segments, with a simple and lovely lace shawl collar, yokes in front and back, a gathered bodice, and a slightly swingy profile

Sleeves can be made short (just above), three-quarter length (below), or long (top) and the body also can be done cropped, mid- or tunic length.

Sweater shown is size 36" / 91.5 cm, worn with 1" ease on Olivia and 0 ease on dress form.
