Luke's Diced Vest - design by Mary Jane Mucklestone

When I hear that Mary Jane Mucklestone and Twist Collective were interested in using Sunday Knits yarns for a vest Mary Jane was designing for Twist's Spring '09 issue, I was thrilled! The issue is recently out, and the vest is smashing.

I've always been a big fan of Mary Jane's colorwork. Her traditional fair isle designs are classic.

And her color sense is nothing short of brilliant.
She used 8 colors here: espresso, raisin, chestnut, sea, aqua, sage, pickle and pumpkin

This cool sagey colorway is also beautiful - background colors range through sage, stone, bone, rain ... foreground colors: raisin, chestnut, earth, pickle ...

this warm pumpkin colorway would also be very pretty in a woman's vest. background colors: sesame, curry, pumpkin, tomato ... foreground colors: chestnut, earth, twig, aqua, sea ...
