Little Riding Hoodie

Tunic length cardigan with cables, knit-in pockets, attached hood, set-in sleeves and knitted toggle buttons

Ribs cinch in the back waist. Sleeves are gathered at the elbow.

Lots of pretty cable decreases to shape sleeves, back shoulder, front edges, and shaped hood

Plenty of detail to keep it interesting, and lots of stockinette stitch to keep things moving along


Knit with 1 strand Sunday Knits 3 ply (246 yds / 225 m per 50g skein):
Angelic (75% merino 25% angora) together with 1 strand Brigadoon (100% merino tweed)
- shown in Angelic bone with Brigadoon birch.

Or knit with 1 strand any Sunday Knits 5 ply yarn.

Finished measurements: Chest sizes 34 (38, 42, 46, 49.5, 53)"
2-4" positive ease recommended. Shown in size 38 with 2" ease.

Yarn: 6 (6, 7, 7, 8, 9) skeins each: Brigadoon and Angelic 3 ply
or 11 (12, 13, 14, 15, 17) skeins Sunday Knits 5 ply (137 yd/125 m per 50g skein):
Angelic, Eden, Nirvana, or Brigadoon

Needles & Notions: Size 8 US / 6.0 mm and US 4 / 3.5 mm knitting needles for 2-strand sweater
or Size 7 US / 5.5 mm for 1-strand sweater;
US 3 / 3.25 mm needles for toggle buttons;
cable needle or double-pointed needle; tapestry needle; stitch markers, one small button for neck closure;

Gauge: 17 sts and 25 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch using 2 3-ply strands and size 8 needles
or 20 sts and 27 rows = 4" / 10 cm using 1 5-ply strand and size 7 needles.
